Christina Yek published in J Clin Microbiol

Christina Yek published some of her fantastic work in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology this week! Christina and team investigated the application of a commercially available assay for plasma HIV RNA quantitation in other specimen types, namely CSF, dried blood and plasma spots, seminal plasma, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells.

These applications are not only important in laboratory studies of viral pathogenesis, dynamics and persistence, but may also have clinical implications including in the investigation of cure strategies and diagnosis/treatment in resource-limited settings. This work was done at her previous lab at UCSD Center for AIDS Research.

Congratulations 🙂
